IUGG Korea

Officially named ‘International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) – National Committee of Republic of Korea’, IUGG Korea is a Korean counterpart of the IUGG contributing since 1960.

The enetering of Korea into the IUGG community was held upon the need for communication with the international geophysics community and thus was organized by the geographic research institute of Korean Ministry of Defence. The official membership has started since 1960 by the National Institute of Civil Engineering, which later becomes the National Geographic Insitute.
